Let us clean it using delicate materials that won't scratch your
boat or chip the paint. Water conducts electricity, and when different metals are placed in the water an electrical current will flow between them. This current corrodes the less noble metals. The Zincs on your boat are known as "sacrificial anodes". Zinc is one of the less noble metals and will attract current, corroding little by little and keeping the current away from other metal surfaces on your boat, like your propellers. Zincs should be replaced every 6 months to a year. |
